Even Dogs Know When They are Kicked

The silly season is here and the memo is out.
Every talking head in the conservative trenches is drumming it home to Americans about President Obama’s billion-dollar re- election machine.
By now, you are familiar with the GOP modus operandi: repeat a lie very often and forcefully too, and Americans will believe you.
It’s it laughably preposterous that an American president taunted and berated by the right as toxic and inimical to America and Americans is able to generate re-election funds to the tune of billions of dollars?
Whom from?
However, For the purpose of argument let us agree President Obama has billion dollar stashed away for his re-election. I do not know about you, but for me it means one thing, and one thing alone: the president is doing something right, and the people are in love. Period.
Now do not be fooled for this is a smokescreen, a farce.
I will explain.
The GOP is quite aware that enormous amount of money would be spent on campaign ads by both parties as a result of the Citizen United Supreme Court sham, (“corporations are people, my friend,” remember that?) Therefore, to justify the millions, and millions of dollars political hatchet men like Karl Rove, the Koch brothers, various super PACs, and corporations are waiting impatiently to throw at President Obama through negative campaign ads, and documentaries, hence the loose talk of Obama’s billion dollar reelection machine.
They chose to call it MACHINE to sound damaging to provoke citizen anger.
The corporations are already threatening Obama with electoral defeat. The largest energy firm in America recently told the President of the United States that his refusal to cooperate with the Keystone XL pipeline would cost him his job come 2012 election.
Now hear the truth.
The Keystone XL pipeline will not in any meaningful way draw down gas prices at the pump. The oil corporations are the ones to benefit big if the deal falls through because they will have more gas to export and line their greasy pockets. Nobody is telling us that the purported pipeline is to siphon gas to Asia and Europe using America as a conduit pipe. Somebody should be telling us that the biggest American export today is gas. Really? Yeah!. It then begs the question why is the petroleum industry exporting oil, if it is genuinely concerned about high cost of gas in the domestic market.
From Iowa to New Hampshire, and South Carolina, I have closely watched the revolving door that is the Republican presidential primaries, and I am perplexed that regular folks are just mere pawns in the game of politics. We hear of the millions, and millions of dollars spent in campaign ads back and forth, but how much of these monies go to the average person? Your guess is as good as mine.
In third world countries, politicians grease the palms of electorates for their votes. In other words, politicians buy their ways to office. Wait! before you “crucify” me, hear me out. I’m not trying to justify bribery and corruption in our body polity. All I’m implying is that at the end the day, the average third world citizen goes home with something to put food on the table for his or her family.
The average American is being kicked around by the political elites. It’s like watching a tennis tournament where spectators follow the ball with head motions, as it bounces from one corner of the lawn to the other. That is who we are, mere spectators in the tennis game of politics, as we watch the dollars fly overhead.
When I hear so-called political analysts describe politician “X” as being pushed far left, and politician “A” going far right, and wonder how they going to adjust their extreme positions to govern at the center, I come off with just one impression, and that is that we are dealing with people without core beliefs. What is wrong in saying what you mean and meaning what you say?
Now ask yourself, who benefits from these campaign millions? For sure, it is not me and obviously not you either. The beneficiary is he media, and who owns the media? The C O R P O R A T I O N S. This accounts for why the corporation can afford to money-bath the election process because it is a good investment. They have whom they want in Washington, who in return takes legislative orders from them, and the money they spent in the process circles back to them. A win-win situation.
Do you still wonder why the politician goes to Washington, and does not work for you, but works fiercely to protect the high and mighty? Do your still wonder why politicians are not making good their campaign promises? Remember the two extremes, “left” and “right,” that’s where we congregate. These days in America, none of us inhabits the “center.” The political elites are merely exploiting the dichotomy.
Let me conclude with a word of wisdom. In his letter to James Madison in 1787, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “educate and inform the whole mass of the people. … They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”

Great article Onuigbos, Maybe we are all being deceived with what appears to be two sides, when they all are one in the same. There are plenty of people around that insist on being duped by the rightwing propoganda machine, based on previous comments, case in point.
It is all bad, it just from analysis it just appears the Democrats are lesser of two evils...
Unions are not corporations! These and left wing billionaires like Zoros are the ones pushing Obamas campaign relection bid! I love how you libs talk about Koch brothers, I never heard of them in my life until one of you libs brought them up! Why is it you have this disdain for wealthy conservatives and not wealthy libs? What is the difference??? Gore is filthy rich, Edwards is filthy rich, Pelosi is filthy rich! Obama never had a real job in his life and is supposed to be worth 7 MILLION, where the hell did he get that? Do government jobs pay that well?? If so I want my taxes lowered! So the Keystone pipeline would not have helped anyone but the big oil companies??? No people would have been required to build this pipeline, watch over it? or maintain it for the next 100 years? Oil is a commodity like corn, .........duh when there is more corn the groceries are less expensive.........soooo it stands to reason more oil would mean.........stay with me??? I think your getting it now! voted down!

Credence2, thanks for reading and commenting. Isn't it a shame that our legislative representatives from both parities send valuable legislative time dialing the phones for campaign contributions? This is no democracy. For all I care, this is what Afro-beat legend, Fela called "Them-All-Crazy" What good could possibly come from an amalgam from hell on behalf of the people? You wonder why the Republican Party has gone brazen in its disdain for the working poor? We are no longer relevant. "He who pays the piper, dictates the tunes."
